Fort Mill’s 3rd high school won’t open until 2019, but is virtually ready for viewing
The Fort Mill school district is offering the public a slick graphic preview of the district’s third high school, Catawba Ridge.
A post on the district’s Facebook pages says, “Want a glimpse of what Fort Mill School District’s third high school will look like? Check out this simulated flyover of Catawba Ridge High School. Please note that this is a representation and the design may be subject to some adjustments.” The post also notes that the video does not contain sound. View it here:
The Fort Mill school board approved the name Catawba Ridge High School for the district’s third high school, which is set to open in August 2019, last year after a contest and a long debate.
The school will sit 1.5 miles from the Catawba River on a site off Fort Mill Parkway.
Voters approved construction in a 2015 bond referendum. Another referendum will be held next month for funding more capital projects necessitated by growth.
